14 weeks

How far along? 14 weeks

Total weight gain: based on my trusty gym scale, still 2 lbs...based on my waistline, it will be going up soon

Maternity clothes? got my 2 pairs of maternity pants in the mail, and spent approximately 30 minutes laughing out loud at how they looked.  i bought a pair of maternity "skinny jeans" and I should have gone up a size, I think they will need to be returned.

Stretch marks? not yet.

Sleep: still pretty tired but sleeping pretty good.

Best moment this week:  seeing even more UAH girls this weekend for Plier's baby shower...i can't believe so many of my friend have or are having kids!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy most of the time
.
Miss Anything? no

Movement: no

Food cravings:  sour candy!! any and all kinds! i even made the "sour patch grapes" that you may have seen on pinterest (grapes coated in jello powder)...they were good, but i'm not sure they were satisfying

Anything making you queasy or sick: my vitamins and bananas

Gender: we are scheduled to go in July 9, and barring any hiccups we will find out then (CAN'T WAIT)

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: nothing major anymore.

Belly Button in or out? deep in, like always

Looking forward to: July 9.
Other: I completed my first week of yoga.  I think I am going to like it, but if you dare mention you are pregnant to a crazy yogi they start talking about pelvic floors and the miracle of childbirth...

and due to a request from Casey...here is a picture from today.  I can DEFINITELY tell I am showing, I wonder if it is as obvious to everyone else??

a post full of updates

If you have clicked on the "30 in 30" link at the top of the page ever (or recently would be better) you would find that out of the 30 projects I want to accomplish before baby, we HAVE actually knocked a few off the list...what you won't find is the 2 improvement projects that I have told you about on here (the guest bathroom and the one I am about to update you on).  The reason you won't find these...because they weren't a priority at the time I made the list, but if you know ANYTHING about Chuck and I, you know that we are spontaneous, instant-gratification seeking, non-sequence following DIY'ers! When we pass something at Lowes that catches our attention and we think we can pull it off, we buy it and do it! (whether we need it, want it, or even care about it).  A few examples of this:
1) deciding to paint our patio furniture while on the way to the grocery store on a 101 degree Saturday
2) purchasing a (as in ONE) door and hanging it at our Alabama house even before the demo was complete in the rest of the house so we could claim "victory" in one room
3) purchasing a dining room table and 8 chairs at least a month before we bought a house and damn near killing ourselves hauling it up and down 3 flights of apartment stairs TWICE just so we could have it RIGHT THEN!

this list could go on and on, but the moral of the story is, we have a LOT we want to do in our new house (way more than 30 things) so don't be surprised if everything I talk about in home improvements is NOT on the list....although I did buy master bedroom bedding and I love it...I shall update soon. So our latest home improvement was crown molding in the upstairs bedrooms: the nursery and the guest room AKA Dad's room.  This project started innocently enough in the lumber section of Lowe's when chuck was looking for something (still not sure what, since we got sidetracked) and ended up finding a "contractor's bundle" of crown molding for $66.  For $66 we got 8 pieces of 12' long crown; after price comparing with the individual pieces ($20 per piece for the same stuff), I declared it a shopping miracle and we grabbed it up and ran home.  At this point we had not measured either of our bedrooms upstairs, because we had no intention of completing this project; so we had no clue if 12' lengths would even work or not.  Call us lucky, because we had only one wall that was longer then 12' and therefore this project required only one trip back to Lowes (unless you count the 2nd return trip when Chuck somehow swindled me into letting him buy a $400 mitre saw when we had a perfectly good and FREE borrowed one in our house...I blame exhaustion, and pregnancy, BECAUSE I CAN).  I don't have pictures yet and I'll spare you all the details, but the finished product looks amazing and on a scale of 1 to 10 on difficultly,  I give it a 3...as in pretty damn easy!  If any of you are interested in our services, we have a dang good saw and for a nominal fee will gladly install crown molding all over your house, as long as you caulk (that part is boring!).

next update...baby brain! (I think this is what Plier called it, of course I can't remember...becuase I can't remember ANYTHING!).  I have a good memory.  If someone were to ask me "what are 3 things you are really good at?" I would respond: "eating, sleeping, and remembering stuff".  maybe. But regardless, I am usually not an airhead.  just this morning in a 5 minute window I:
1) almost left rigsby outside for the whole day before leaving for work (if you know rigsby, you know this would NOT go over well...at all)
2) left my breakfast in the microwave after it cooked
3) forgot to put on my rings before leaving the house
and who knows what else...these are the things that I have figured out so far! this baby is making me crazy...i can't remember to do anything.  taking my vitamins on a daily basis is harder than memorizing the periodic table; remembering to put on deoderant (something I have done for at least 20 years now, daily) is like IMPOSSIBLE...i mean, I stink...all the time now!!!

with that said, life is still good in the world of pregnancy.  I started yoga yesterday, I hope to do it twice a week...this probably deserves a post all on it's own.  The one where I talk about learning to connect with my body and releasing all the evil toxins that could potentially cause me and baby harm...HA! I just want to be flexible so I still have a chance at reaching my feet 6 months from now...

13 weeks today...AKA 2nd TRIMESTER

How far along? 13 weeks!!!

Total weight gain: no clue, i haven't been to the gym all week.  i will be realistic and say that it is probably at least 3 lbs now, since it was 2 last week...and I eat my ass off everyday!

Maternity clothes? belly band almost everyday, oh and i just placed an order for 2 pairs of maternity pants (1 jean, 1 work pant) and a full length bathing suit top, i guess i'm not going to be "that girl"

Stretch marks? not yet.

Sleep: still pretty tired...and napping quite a bit

Best moment this week:  knowing that we made it through the first trimester...i know anything can happen at any time, but it was nice to hit that milestone. oh, and see several of the old UAH girls for Potter's baby shower.  (which was a meet the baby shower since slacker Kellie never planned it prior to birth).

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy most of the time, but i had a VIOLENT moody day last saturday.  i knew it when i woke up.
.
Miss Anything? not too much this week, except maybe work pants that button.

Movement: no

Food cravings:  nothing in particular this week

Anything making you queasy or sick: my vitamins

Gender: we are scheduled to go in July 9, and barring any hiccups we will find out then

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: nothing major anymore.

Belly Button in or out? deep in, like always

Looking forward to: July 9.  But also heading to huntsville for Plier's baby shower this weekend.  I'm excited to see my Mary, it has been TOO LONG!

chuck and i are starting our "get in baby shape" plan next week.  he is trying out crossfit, i am going to stick to the gym and also try yoga 2 days a week.  we have been in funk for a while now, so hopefully it will start to feel good getting on a new workout routine.

little house tweaks..

so you probably know that we bought a house in Chattanooga..  what you might not know if you haven't seen it, is that at least 2, if not 3 of our old houses would fit inside this new house.  seriously...it is huge! obviously when we moved in, we did not fill it up.  we bought quite a bit of furniture early on (think couch, love seat, coffee table, end table, console table, dining table/chairs, bedroom set (that was gifted..), rugs, THE. WHOLE. NINE. YARDS) but there is still lots to do.

i decided this weekend, that unless I am proactive and actually decorate the house, it isn't going to happen.  so, i am taking baby steps to getting our house decorated.  this week, I started with the smallest room in the house, the half bath.  i didn't take a before/after picture because it was empty before! i didn't paint or change anything major (we had actually changed the light fixture in here before we ever moved in, yeah, the other was that bad!) so here it is...
crappy iphone picture

and if you can't envision it before...just pretend all these items aren't there

I only got mildly creative when searching for a magazine holder, this is something I prefer not have in a bathroom, but in my house I either A) provide a holder or B) look at magazines on the floor.  I ended up buying a wine bottle holder which works perfectly as a magazine/towel/tp holder...CUTE!

so there is step one in our "decorate the house" plan.  i should mention, that all this (which you can't see the hand towels or trash can cost less than $75!

12 weeks

we are back from vacation, i had my second doctors visit this week, riverbend (music festival) has been going on since last Friday, mom and dad are both in town all week long, headed to Huntsville this weekend....busy. busy. busy. here''s an update.

How far along? 12 weeks!!!

Total weight gain: it wasn't that bad, after vacation on my scales i was still up 2 lbs.  at the doctor on Monday they actually had me LOSING 2 lbs (i think it was due to a lightweight dress).  I'm going with GAINING 2 LBS.  that is what the trusty gym scale says.

Maternity clothes? belly band again.  my pants with "stretch" will button or my pants that have always been deemed my "fat pants" will fit, otherwise they WILL.NOT.BUTTON...great, that makes me feel just great!

Stretch marks? not yet.

Sleep: still pretty tired...i have started researching pregnancy pillows. sleeping good though

Best moment this week:  without a doubt, seeing that baby move around on the ultrasound...it may have been my most favorite moment EVER!  we got to see kicking, arms flailing, and even full on body movement...i thought we were about to witness a somersault.  absolutely the coolest thing ever.

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
.
Miss Anything? beer.  cold beer.

Movement: no

Food cravings:  it changes everyday.  this week it has been mostly sweet (last night it was a butterscotch sundae).  the underlying craving for all things gummy and sour is ever present; but I've been battling that for like 15 years

Anything making you queasy or sick: my vitamins

Gender: we are scheduled to go in July 9, and barring any hiccups we will find out then

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: tired all the time and starting to feel "fat" (REALLY FAT)

Belly Button in or out? deep in, like always

Looking forward to: the weekend...to rest. this has been a long week.

Other:  i think it may be time to start maternity clothes shopping.  in my mind, i was going to be one of those girls who didn't need maternity clothes until 20 or 30 weeks...HAHAHA

my precious!

it is official!!!

as if growing a human inside of your belly for 3 months didn't make it "official" enough....is is now officially official...you know what that means.  FACEBOOK official.

with that said, i will now divvy out the blog address to everyone i know and maybe now I will have more than 2 readers, but you know, probably not.

to further justify the official-ness, we went in for our second visit and ultrasound on Monday.  All went well and we got to spend 2 or 3 minutes watching the gummy bear flop around inside of me.  The doctor poked and prodded a bit to get the baby moving and it showed it's dislike for this by rearing up on it's head and kicking its legs (which appear to be super short) and flailing it's arms (which appear to be super long).  It was easily the most exciting thing that has happened to me all week and I can't wait to see it again.  Next visit we will get to find out the gender assuming he or she decides to cooperate and show it's heiny!

11 weeks today...

so, I missed most of week 10, I was doing too much of this...
and this...
but enough of that. ok, one more...
here is the weekly update.

How far along? 11 weeks!!!

Total weight gain: at this point, i have no clue.  i'm almost scared to get on the scale after a week full of frozen "daiquiris" and yummy food! it could have gotten bad..

Maternity clothes? after coming back to reality, i realized i couldn't button my pants, so i wore the belly band today (with my pants unbuttoned!), not sure if that counts.

Stretch marks? not yet.

Sleep: i spend a lot of time tossing and turning, and still super tired all the time.

Best moment this week:  the whole week, spending ALL day EVERY day on the beach in Antigua

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
.
Miss Anything? nothing much right now.

Movement: no

Food cravings:  I've eaten so much crap this week, I think I am actually craving salad!

Anything making you queasy or sick: this is getting much better, thinking about chicken makes me sick for some reason...i don't want chicken.

Gender: Doctor said we could probably find out as soon as 14-16 weeks, so we will see

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: tired all the time and starting to feel "fat" (REALLY FAT)

Belly Button in or out? deep in, like always

Looking forward to: going to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully getting to see the gummy bear again

Other:  mom and dad are both in town this week to attend riverbend, so i am excited to have all the activity in the house!
